To make sure your tattoo turns out as beautifully as possible, it is important to follow a few guidelines before the tattoo session.
During the week before the tattoo
It is recommended to moisturize the area of skin to be tattooed once a day with body lotion. Well-hydrated skin is easier to tattoo, and the ink also settles into the skin more evenly.
What you should not do before the tattoo
- Do not consume alcohol within 24 hours before the tattoo, as it thins the blood and may cause heavier bleeding.
- Avoid drugs and mind-altering substances.
- Do not use a tanning bed or sunbathe before the tattoo (sunburned skin cannot be tattooed).
- Do not arrive on an empty stomach, make sure to eat beforehand.
- Do not apply cream to the skin area right before the tattoo session.
- Do not arrive if you are sick (fever, cold, weakened immune system). In such cases it is better to arrange a new appointment.
On the day of the tattoo
- arrive well-rested
- eat beforehand
- drink enough fluids
If you follow these guidelines, the tattoo process will be more comfortable and the final result will also look better.
